Pulandian Bay‘s special landscape with green mountains falling into the sea, its irregular curved coastline with headlands, small bays and islands and the productive water landscapes with green dam structures weaved like fish nets into the sea are a great source to create an unique landscape design for Pulandian Bay.

Conceptualizing the entire catchment of the rainwater including the mountains and the city as part of the park has the broadest possible effect on Pulandian Bay, creating a sustainable »urban coast« of great richness and complex mixing on multiple levels: spatial, ecological, functional, economic, and social. In shifting pre-established boundaries, we have opened up new possibilities and new relationships between the new city, its streams and the bay. The following 5 parts of the park all contain different water processes as well as different design principles: Mountain Park, Freshwater Park, Waterfront Park, Saltwater Park and Island Park. These five types of parks connect the city with the particular mountainside and the seaside!

They are linked in order to form an overall Green System that takes up both natural and traditional landscape elements and carries them into the future. The city and its green system is designed as an urban catchment based on the flow of water.
